Avelengo
A few kilometres from Merano is Avelengo, a small village of 600 inhabitants.
Avelengo can be reached through the panoramic road going from Merano (300 m. a.s.l.) to the highland of "Tschögglberg" (1250 a.s.l.).
The area of „Tschögglberg“ offers a wide choice of entertainment activities: walking, hiking, horse-riding, biking…. surrounded by an extraordinary natural landscape here you can really enjoy the beauty of the Meraner Land.
The village of Avelengo is famous for being the place of origin of “Haflinger”, the Avelignese horses.
