Right along the hiking trail, in the Merano 2000 ski and hiking area at 1,818 meters above sea level, the ROTWAND Mountain Restaurant is a meeting point for everyone who loves mountains, movement, and special moments. With sun loungers, umbrellas, a kids’ playground, a carefully curated selection of drinks, and perhaps the highest coffee roastery in the Alps.

Here, alpine ease merges with the #miramontivibe to create a place of connection and culinary experiences. Whether it’s a snow-covered winter day or a sun-drenched summer moment, Rotwand is a retreat, an experience, and a little world of indulgence all in one. Designed by Harry Thaler.
FOOD
Look forward to a new South Tyrolean cuisine, shaped by regional products and traditional craftsmanship. The culinary concept, signed by Christoph Huber from Blaue Traube, brings his unmistakable cooking style to the mountains.
CABIN
A delightful culinary experience in a cosy atmosphere: in our Rotwand Cabin we serve authentic cheese raclette, freshly melted and accompanied by potatoes, kimchi vegetables, sour cream and crusty bread. Served with fine speck from the farmer “Dorfbauer” in St. Martin in Passeier – by Johann Schwarz, Klaus’ cousin. A lunch made for sharing, savouring and lingering. With friends, family or colleagues.

COFFEE
At 1,818 m, we roast carefully selected Fairtrade specialty coffee beans at the MONTI Coffee Roastery – crafted by hand, with dedication and attention to detail.
Our small roastery was born from the passion of our host, Klaus Alber.
